The National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) is elated to partner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for the 7th annual Reserving Veteran Business Connections 2023 to continue to provide education and opportunities to Service-Disabled and Veteran Owned Businesses (SD/VOBs).

The Reserving Veteran Business Connections 2023 is an annual event hosted jointly by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and NVBDC. The event will provide a unique platform for veteran-owned businesses to connect with potential customers, including major corporations and government agencies. This year’s event is set to take place at the Federal Reserve Bank of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan. The event has been held virtually for the past few years due to the pandemic. NVBDC is ecstatic to host face-face 1:1 matchmaking with supplier professionals, once again!

One of the highlights of the event is the keynote address by Dr. Fred McKinney, a renowned economist, academic leader, and advocate.

Dr. McKinney’s impressive background in academia and leadership in organizations promoting diversity and inclusion in education and the workplace make him an ideal keynote speaker for the NVBDC Federal Reserve Matchmaker.  He has an impressive academic background, including leading the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth minority business Executive Education program,  teaching at Brandeis University, the University of Connecticut, and Quinnipiac University.  Dr. McKinney worked at the White House Council of Economic Advisers and led the GNEMSDC for 15 years.  Dr. McKinney is recognized as one of the most important minds in DEI today as our keynote speaker.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. McKinney has also served as a leader in various organizations dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in education and the workplace. He was a founding member of the Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now (ConnCAN), which advocates for quality education for all students in the state. He also served as president and CEO of the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council, which supports minority-owned businesses and helps them connect with major corporations.

The NVBDC Reserving Veteran Business Connections 2023 Conference is a great opportunity for businesses owned by veterans to connect with potential customers. The event provides a one-on-one platform for veteran suppliers to present their capabilities to corporations seeking certified veteran-owned suppliers.  By combining the resources of the NVBDC and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the event assembles top professionals delivering exceptional presentations and provides an excellent opportunity for veteran-owned businesses to expand their network and gain new business opportunities.

In conclusion, Dr. Fred McKinney is a highly respected economist, academic leader, and advocate, and his keynote address, titled  “Revitalizing Supplier Diversity-Opportunities and Challenges “ at the upcoming NVBDC Reserving Veteran Business Connections 2023 Matchmaker in Detroit, Michigan, is sure to be a highlight of the event. The matchmaking conference itself is an excellent opportunity for veteran-owned businesses to connect with potential customers and expand their network.

In 2019, during our National Conference in Columbus Ohio,  NVBDC presented the originator of Veteran Businesses Laws.  This year, we are excited to introduce the man who is one of the initiators of supplier diversity.

Come meet a legend in Supplier Diversity and meet the man that led the Tuck School of Entrepreneurship, taught at Stanford, Yale, and Dartmouth, and is recognized as one of the most important minds in DEI today.
