About the Role
The National Veteran Business Development Council (“NVBDC”) is a nationwide nonprofit organization that certifies Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses for Corporate America through a third-party process. NVBDC advocates for and supports the participation of certified veteran-owned and service-disabled businesses in federal and corporate contracting and procurement. According to NVBDC, consciously including veteran-owned businesses promotes excellent organizational performance, builds stronger communities, and sets up corporations and veteran-owned enterprises for long-term success.
We are looking for a director with a lot of corporate America philanthropic expertise to oversee our mission advancement, partnership expansion, and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities

Drive all revenue efforts to achieve a $3M annual goal

Build partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, foundations, and major donors

Oversee business operations for a $3–5M+ organization with a staff of 9

Serve as SME and advocate emphasizing veteran entrepreneurship as a business imperative for Corporate America and the Federal Sector

Provide supplier development and education programs to NVBDC certified SD/VOBs

Manage legislative agenda to facilitate expansion of NVBDC certification in the public sector.

Travel will be required to participate in events/conferences. (20% of time)
Qualifications
-
7–10+ years in philanthropy, CSR, supplier diversity, supplier inclusion, supply chain, or nonprofit development

Demonstrated ability to manage a $3–5M+ budget/program

Proven track record in multimillion-dollar fundraising

Strong corporate relationship-building experience

Military veteran preferred

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in supply chain, logistics, corporate philanthropy or nonprofit management

Prefer (both but not required) professional credentials issued by Institute of Supply Management: (will consider equivalent)
CPSM: Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management
CPSD: Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity
