Honoring a Lifetime of Service, Leadership, and Dedication to Veterans
The National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) proudly celebrates the induction of Robert Middleton, NVBDC Treasurer and proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, into the Michigan Military Veterans Hall of Honor and Historical Museum.
On October 24, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan, Robert was officially honored for his distinguished service and lifelong dedication to veterans. He was presented with the coveted Hall of Honor Bronze Medallion, accompanied by a Tribute from Governor Gretchen Whitmer and a Special Senatorial Recognition from the United States Congress.
This recognition marks a remarkable milestone in a lifetime defined by service. A Vietnam Veteran, Robert embodies the Marine Corps’ core values of honor, courage, and commitment. His steadfast leadership both in uniform and in civilian life stands as an example of how military discipline and integrity continue to strengthen communities long after active service ends.
At the NVBDC, Robert serves as a cornerstone of the organization’s leadership team. As Treasurer, he ensures financial stewardship, transparency, and long-term sustainability — helping NVBDC continue its mission to certify and advocate for veteran-owned businesses across the nation. His work reflects the same focus and accountability that guided his years in the Marine Corps.
“Robert Middleton represents the very best of who we are as veterans,” said Keith King, NVBDC Founder & CEO. “He has carried the Marine Corps values into everything he does — from serving his country in Vietnam to serving the veteran business community today. His induction into the Hall of Honor is not just well-deserved; it’s a moment of pride for all of us at NVBDC.”
Robert’s induction follows in the distinguished footsteps of other NVBDC leaders who have received this honor in previous years — Keith King, a Vietnam Combat Veteran and NVBDC Founder & CEO, and Sid E. Taylor, a Marine Corps Vietnam Combat Veteran and NVBDC Board Member, who were both recognized for their decades of service and advocacy on behalf of veterans.
As the United States Marine Corps prepares to celebrate its 250th Anniversary, Robert Middleton’s induction reminds us that the Marine spirit of service never fades. From the battlefield to the boardroom, his legacy continues to inspire.
The NVBDC family extends its heartfelt congratulations to Robert for this prestigious recognition — and its deepest gratitude for his unwavering dedication to veterans everywhere.
Semper Fidelis, Robert.
