(888) CERTIFIED

The National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) is proud to be America’s first and only veteran certification program designed to meet the rigorous standards demanded by the corporate supplier diversity community. Founded by veteran business leaders Keith King and Brigadier General (ret) Dick Miller, both recognized experts in the laws determining veteran status, NVBDC is recognized and trusted by major corporations and is also accepted as the exclusive veteran-owned business certification for members of the prestigious Billion Dollar Roundtable (BDR)—a coalition of corporations spending $1 billion or more annually with diverse suppliers. The BDR currently represents 39 major corporate partners, 32 of whom are NVBDC Corporate members, that spent over $4.3 Billion with NVBDC Certified Veteran Owned Businesses in 2023.

This endorsement solidifies NVBDC’s reputation as the gold standard for certifying service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses (SD/VOB’s). By ensuring compliance with corporate and exceeding federal requirements, NVBDC connects veteran entrepreneurs with high-level procurement opportunities in the most competitive markets.

Corporate Support That Sets NVBDC Apart

With the backing of Fortune 500 companies and the BDR, NVBDC was created in response to corporate demands for a veteran certification program with uncompromising integrity and stringent standards. These organizations recognized the need for a certification that mirrors the credibility and reliability of established programs for women- and minority-owned businesses.

“Major corporations, including members of the Billion Dollar Roundtable, demanded a certification process that guarantees the authenticity of veteran-owned businesses,” said Keith King, NVBDC Founder and CEO. “NVBDC provides that assurance while advancing opportunities for service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses in corporate supply chains.”

Opening Doors for Veteran Entrepreneurs

NVBDC’s certification is more than a designation—it’s a powerful tool for veteran business growth. Accepted by corporations with significant supplier diversity initiatives, including BDR members, NVBDC certification unlocks access to billions of dollars in corporate contracts.

  1. Billion Dollar Roundtable Recognition: NVBDC is the only veteran certification accepted by BDR members to capture and report their Veteran business spend,  affirming its unmatched credibility in supplier diversity initiatives.
  2. Unmatched Standards: NVBDC’s rigorous process ensures that only legitimate SDVOBs and VOBs receive certification, fostering trust and accountability.
  3. Expanding Opportunities: NVBDC-certified businesses gain exposure to corporate procurement professionals and lucrative contracting opportunities.

 Driving Economic Impact

Through its partnership with Fortune 500 Member Corporations, NVBDC has revolutionized opportunities for service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses, helping them become integral parts of corporate supplier diversity programs. In fact, The recently released 2023 Economic Impact Report by the Billion Dollar Roundtable (BDR) indicates a $6.7 billion impact on service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses (SD/VOBs).  These corporations have a strong interest in the veteran owned business community and have made the NVBDC certification the only acceptable SD/VOB certification for Primes, as well as their Tier I and Tier II suppliers.

With recognition by the members of the Billion Dollar Roundtable, NVBDC certified service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses (SD/VOBs) are uniquely positioned to contribute to and benefit from large-scale procurement initiatives.
