Jomy Methipara – Partner at Dickinson Wright | Business Lawyer | Board Member | Intellectual Property (IP) Expert

If you’re looking for a lawyer who treats you like family, is invested in your success, provides strategic business advice through a legal lens, and is budget-sensitive, contact me at [email protected] – let’s explore how we can work together to build business, inspire and support one another.

With a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Illinois, I spent five years in the medical device and aerospace sectors before transitioning to law. My passion for innovation and business led me to D.C., where I built a legal career focused on intellectual property, corporate law, and guiding entrepreneurs through complex business challenges.

I started in transactional patent law, expanded into patent litigation, and have always been committed to supporting small and mid-size businesses. Entrepreneurs need more than just patents – they need strategic and comprehensive legal and business guidance to scale successfully. Since 2015, my practice has grown to include patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, M&A, entity formation, contract negotiations, capital raising, employment, healthcare and investigations. My goal is to provide holistic, responsive legal services that meet the evolving needs of entrepreneurs and executives in a complex business environment.

As a partner at Dickinson Wright since 2018, I dedicate 25% of my time to mentoring and supporting small businesses, speaking engagements, and collaborating with universities, incubators, and accelerators. Supporting the growth of small and mid-size businesses not only fosters innovation but also strengthens our broader economy and community. More and more of the large and mid-market businesses rely on the efforts of the small business market for growth and expansion strategies. With our firm’s broad legal platform and expertise across all industries and technologies, my colleagues and I are well-equipped to assist in any legal matter.
