Manufacturing in Africa: Opportunity, Scale, and Strategy
Global Chamber® Africa opening session of Global Trade Month: Africa

    Tuesday, 18 August 2026 | 5:00 PM EAT (10:00 AM ET) | Virtual

We’re pleased to place the spotlight on Africa with Kassoum Coulibaly, Christa Mupfasoni and other talented and connected leaders.

Africa buys more than it makes. That gap is now being closed by people building factories. Consumer markets are widening, the workforce is young, AfCFTA lets a producer in one country sell across many, and international buyers want capacity closer to their customers.

The questions worth an hour of your time are: where are the strongest returns, and what does it take to build and scale?

Join Global Chamber Mombasa and the Global Chamber Africa network for a session covering:

    • High-growth sectors and the hubs where production is concentrating
    • Market size, supply chains, infrastructure, and the route to buyers
    • Regulatory and operational risk, and how working operators manage it
    • What AfCFTA changes for regional production and cross-border trade
    • Openings in pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical manufacturing
    • East Africa’s position, with Mombasa as the trade and investment gateway

    Featured Speakers:

    Veteran Certification

Christa Mupfasoni – Founder and CEO, TEXAMED Industries Ltd | Advisory Board Member and Lead, Trade, Investment & Blue Economy Committee, Global Chamber Mombasa

Christa built a supplies business over more than a decade, then moved into production, and has manufactured in Kenya’s non-pharmaceutical sector for the past four years. She will speak from that record: what market entry cost her, how she built a supply network that holds, where operations broke, and what she would do differently with a second plant.

For a company looking at the region from outside, Christa is a line into it. She can say which partners are credible and what an approval really takes, which is not something a market report will tell you.

Also speaking: Phena Nyamulu and Brandon Matuki of the Global Chamber Mombasa, with Kassoum Coulibaly of the Global Chamber Regional Desk for Africa.

    Why Mombasa

The port and its inland corridors connect Kenya and the East African hinterland to global markets, and the industrial base around the city keeps growing. For a manufacturer, that means inputs land close to the plant and finished goods reach regional buyers without a second border crossing.

Global Chamber Mombasa works with companies that have decided the region merits a serious look and need help turning that into a decision: local intelligence, introductions that carry weight, and support through investment and licensing processes.

Come with a real question about entry, sourcing, or expansion. You will leave with an answer and the people to take it further.
