Honoring Those Who Served and Continue to Lead
This Veterans Day, the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) proudly honors the brave men and women who have served our nation in uniform—and those who continue their mission of service through business ownership, leadership, and innovation.
The National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) was built, founded, and led by veterans — men and women who proudly served in conflicts including Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Their shared mission and firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by veteran entrepreneurs form the foundation of NVBDC’s work today.
At NVBDC, we believe that military service instills the values that define great entrepreneurs—discipline, accountability, teamwork, and mission focus. Our work ensures those qualities are recognized and rewarded in America’s corporate supply chain through NVBDC certification, the gold standard for service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses (SD/VOBs) of all sizes.
Continuing the Mission Through Economic Empowerment
Veterans have always been leaders in innovation and small business. By certifying veteran-owned companies and connecting them to major corporations across the country, NVBDC opens doors to billions in procurement opportunities. Our certified businesses represent every sector of the American economy—from manufacturing and logistics to professional services and technology—each contributing to a stronger national workforce and a more inclusive supply chain.
Strength Through Collaboration: The MVO Task Force
The NVBDC Military and Veteran Organization (MVO) Task Force unites veteran-focused nonprofits and advocacy groups to strengthen our collective impact. Together, these partners are creating real pathways for veteran entrepreneurs—offering resources, mentorship, and opportunities that extend far beyond certification. Through collaboration, we amplify the voices of veterans and ensure their businesses are seen, supported, and celebrated across the nation.
Investing in Future Leaders
Beyond certification and collaboration, NVBDC continues to invest in the next generation of leaders through programs like the NVBDC JROTC Scholarship Program. Over the past four years, this initiative has supported young cadets in pursuing higher education and leadership development, carrying forward the legacy of service and excellence that defines America’s veterans.
A Grateful Nation
Today, and every day, NVBDC salutes America’s heroes—those who served, those who continue to serve, and those who now build, lead, and innovate as veteran business owners. Your service continues to shape our nation’s future, and NVBDC is proud to stand beside you in that mission.
Together, we celebrate your courage, your sacrifice, and your continued impact on America’s economy.
