National Veterans Business Development Council (NVBDC) is committed to creating opportunities for Veterans with the development of our certification, programs and services and in that spirit launched the newest addition to its family of services, the 50 State Managers and “For Those Who Served and Now Giving Back,” Scholarship Program.   The Program is managed and administered by NVBDC Board Member Sid Taylor.  Mr. Taylor is a United States Marine and Vietnam combat veteran. He has over 48 (Forty-Eight) years of service in the Automotive Industry.  Following a 22-year career with General Motors, in 1989, Sid Taylor founded SET Enterprises, Inc., which, through his dynamic leadership, grew into the 8th largest African American owned company in the United States with revenues exceeding $500 million.

An industry leader in Metal Processing Services, SET Enterprises, Inc.expanded to six locations following its acquisition of Noble Metal Forming and Noble Metal Processing-Midwest in 2001, and Michigan Steel Processing in 2003 which expanded the company’s wide range of metal processing services to four states servicing customers that include Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, and FCA to name a few.   Built on quality, service and innovation,SET Enterprises attained Q1 status from Ford Motor Company, ISO 9002, QS 9000 and TS 16949 certification and received The Ford Motor Company’s World Excellence Award. As a supplier to Daimler Chrysler, SET Enterprises received the coveted Gold Awards for 2001, 2002 and 2004.

NVBDC designed the 50 State Manager Program to extend the reach and exposure of our value to those who may not be aware of our organization. The ultimate goal is to raise funds, identify ROTC recipients and award them scholarships. The basis of the program is to reach every community in America to identify and engage corporate partners, business colleagues and individuals to become more involved with our Veterans.
